Jim Hilmar

Jim Hilmar started with KSER back in November of 1997. He’s a lifelong music fan, long-time guitar player and still gets a kick out of collecting old 45 RPM records. Jim has eclectic musical tastes and his special areas of expertise / interest include the "golden age of hillbilly music" (country music from the late 1940's, 1950's and into the 1960's), rockabilly, surf and instrumental guitar and jazz guitar. When Jim isn’t prepping for his show, he’s actively involved with vintage guitars – especially vintage Gretsch guitars which have been favorites of his for decades. Jim’s also a vintage microphone enthusiast – in particular, RCA broadcast microphones from the 1940’s and 1950’s.
